New Job

Just wanted to give you an update on my job at Liquid Highway. The best news is that it seems to have become full time. I worked 5 days last week, and I have been asked to work 5 days next week. Plus there is so much to do, I don't think I will be able to only work 3 days for awhile, if ever, which is GREAT!!

This is my office (not a cubicle)

The window, to the OUTSIDE, in my office.

Liquid Highway just moved their corporate office into this location. The door on the right goes into the offices and the door to the left goes into the warehouse

A closer look of the entrance. The Liquid Highway Xpress sign on the left is where my office is.

This is Tara, she is a Michigander, too. She used to live near Traverse City.

My boss Jim, he looks kinda mean but he is SUPER!!!! He reminds me of Dad, they have the same sense of humor.

The owners;
Theda and Ricky. They are in the office almost everyday and are sooo friendly.
I LOVE THIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Laugh if you will, but it is hard for me to read foreign books or books set in foreign lands. I think it has to do with the long words I have never heard of and some how can not get through my thick skull. I believe this why I never got into the Da Vinci Code, to many places I haven't heard of or able to pronounce in my head.
I believe that is why it took me a long time to get into The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (a Swedish novel translated into English), and how easily I had fallen for the chick lit. distraction. But with the pressure of book club meeting looming and my apparent responsibility to lead the discussion, I dove in head first and I am glad I did. It was a great mystery, that had more than its fair share of surprises. I especially cheered for Lisbeth! I must say I am glad I read the book and hope you don't have as thick a skull as me and get to read and enjoy the book as much as I did.

New (to me) Author: Sarah Strohmeyer

So I wanted to get in some lighthearted reading between book club books and discovered an amazing new author. I literally could not put this book down , on the 2nd day of reading I stayed up until 3 am to be able to finish it.

Just a GREAT fun read....

After reading the Sleeping Beauty Proposal, I found The Cinderella Pact. Same thing happened; I just absolutely fell in love with the characters and couldn't put it down.

THEN I DISCOVERED BUBBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 in the series, Bubbles is a hair dresser who wants to become a newspaper reporter, and surprisingly both to her and those around her does a bang up job at it.

#2

#3

#4

#5

The series is a great bunch of mystery/chick lit reading. The books are light-hearted and fun and I completely recommend them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is one more in the Bubbles series and another title by Strohmeyer..... that I can't wait to read, but first I am going to finish the book club selections!

Book Club

Just wanted to give an update on the books we are reading in my book club

The Wedding Machine was a good story about 4 friends in a small town in SC, it dealt with the relationships between, wives and
husbands, and mothers and daughters, and girlfriends.

The Girl With the Dragon Tatt00, I am still reading, I got distracted by Bubbles (See previous post) I have until Thursday to read the last 400 pages of Tattoo, wish me luck!!

The Thirteenth Tale was recommended to me by my S.I.L., Amanda & it is my pick for the March book club selection.

More on Tattoo and Tale after I read them.

Let it snow............ let it snow..... let it snow

Sunday started out cloudy and rainy, then it started to SNOW!!!

Click here to see the snow fall...

And it snowed into the night

It snowed so much(3 inches hehehehehe Michiganders) the Schools cancelled for the next day.

Surprisingly the snow stayed and Janelle, Juan Miguel and I played in the snow on their day off of school. We made a snow Jake, which Juan wanted to put wings on

Jake checking out his buddy

Look at my cool sweater Grandma D!

Gercies Shower

As soon as I heard Gercie was pregnant, I wanted to throw her a baby shower...

Our table of refreshments

Dave helped decorate, before he and Yves got the boot and the party could begin

What you see here is some of the guests smelling diapers, trying to figure out what candy bars were melted inside.....The game was a hit, if I do say so myself

The winner, got ten candy bars, the same kinds that were used in the diapers

Here we are measuring Gercie's belly, the guest that guessed the closest, won!!!
GOTTA GIVE A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO STACIE!!!!!! She was my helper before, during and after the shower. She kept me calm and help so everything would be perfect, We are thinking about starting a party planning business, interested???

What do you Think.....

So I have been wanting to do a pull-apart cake for sometime (A pull apart cake is a cake made up of cupcakes that you put together and decorate as one cake)

When I was looking for ideas for Gercie's baby shower cake, I found this one online.............

And this is the one I made................
