This is why we can't have nice things!!!

This is a great picture of my nephew, Tommy and Niece, Sydney that hangs on the wall next to our staircase.... well this week while I was trying to be superwoman, carrying up 2 baskets of laundry to be put away, I accidentally knocked the picture off.

That left 2 marks on the wall AND dented in the baseboard

Then before it landed, it punctured the drywall.

Dave says when Jake feels sick to his stomach, he will eat things to try to induce vomiting, like grass........................ or our comforter!!!!!!!

Of course we had to get this comforter, because he ate a hole in the last one. This time we just put a patch over it to cover the hole.

Home Improvements..

Just wanted to show you some home-improvements Dave and I have made so far.
After losing 1 to many fingernails, Dave decided to add hardware to all the cabinets and drawers. Pictures of the hardware in the kitchen

We got the same style for all the cabinets and drawers, this is in the master bathroom.

And we finally stained the fence, I didn't think about a before picture..... but since our neighbors fence is not stained...... this is like before and after in one shot.

Jake and the 4th of July

So I love, love, love Fireworks, I always have. This year I asked Dave if it would be okay to go to downtown Easley for the Firework display. The way I figured, if Jake was going to go crazy because of the noise, might as well enjoy the show. We headed downtown around 8and had pizza at our favorite place, Michaels', then went to find a good spot to see the show. We had no idea where they were going off at and everywhere we looked we saw people sitting to watch the show but they weren't all facing a central location, so we had to guess where would be the best place to sit. I had seen a friend at the pizza place and her nephew said they we going to be shot off at the police station, none of the adults could confirm and wondered how he knew, but Dave and I took his advice and headed to City Hall, next to the Police Station.

We decided to set up our chairs in the parking lot and Jake had mixed reaction to the fireworks people were setting off before the show, sometimes he would FREAK and bark his head off and sometimes he ignored them. Dave assured me Jake was going to freak. I said, anytime he wanted to pack up so Jake wouldn't disturb anyone else, that would be fine, I just wanted to try this one time to see how it went.

WE HAD THE BEST SEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were sooooo close to the fireworks, it was amazing. Of course Jake thought it was the end of the world and the sky was falling and wanted to get away............... he FREAKED and Barked 10 times what I thought he would, so after the 3 firecrackers Dave took Jake and I packed everything up and headed to the car, which wasn't to far away. by the time I got there, Jake had settled down and was in the car, while Dave was outside watching the fireworks, he said we could stay here and watch the rest of the show, since Jake was calm. The view was still great and I just loved it. I can't wait to go back again next year.

Why pay full price....

I think this story is classic.....

This weekend Dave decided to stain the fence. We had already picked up a 5 gallon barrel of stain and a Wagner sprayer so all we were waiting for was enough time to do it. I was his little helper so I was outside with him in a pair of boxers and an old Cami. As we started to stain the back yard fencing Dave figured we would be 5 gallons short, so he asked me to go to Lowe's and pick up another barrel. I asked if he thought I should change my clothes, and he said he didn't care, he wasn't being seen with me;) and he wanted the stain pretty fast.

So I go to Lowe's and they don't have the stain I need in a 5 gallon barrel on the display floor, a girl, my "helper", offers to help and finds it on the top shelf. She tells me she can't get it but will get someone to help. So I wait.....and wait .............. and wait. I go to find my "helper" and she is helping someone else, so I wait...........and wait......... and wait. Again, I go to find my "helper" and she is at the paint counter, she sees me and while pointing at male Lowe's employee, says" I asked him to help you, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet"

I was sooooooooooo pissed off. I picked up 3 1 gallon stain cans (at $30 a piece) and walked to customer service, and dropped them off, then proceeded to go back and get 2 more gallons. After dropping them next 2 the first set of 3, I asked the woman talking in the office if she was the manager. She replied she was 1 of the managers. I then proceeded to tell her that she would need to ring up all the 1 gallons but charge me the 5 gallon price ($133) I told her my story of waiting then said, I am standing here in my underwear because my husband needs the stain and no one would help me!!!!!! At that point she told my she would only charge me $20 for each can, The grand total $100. Then she got someone to carry them out to the car so I wouldn't have to.

When I got home, Dave wondered why it had taken so long, and I told him my story and he laughed and said he should send me out in my underwear more often.

Less Pictures..... No Pictures....

So at some point after the hiking trip and before Scott's house warming party, I dropped my camera hard enough to crack the preview screen. It still takes great pictures, but isn't as much fun to take them, since I can't see what they look like. Just like an old fashion camera, booo booo.

So there will be less photos, but I will continue to blog. If you love the pictures I add to the blog, you could always just send me a new camera.... hint hint, birthday gift, Christmas gift, hint hint....
