Well our game was cancelled last night because of rain, and it bums me out because that is 3 weeks with out softball. (Next Monday's game I will be in Indy and the following Monday is a BYE)
So Dave and I chilled at home last night while he packed for his whirlwind adventure. This morning he leaves for Wisconsin with 4 other Reliable employees then they head to Pennsylvania, they may even have one more stop but I am not sure. They are going to check out some American foundry vendors until Thursday. Then Dave goes by himself to Rhode Island to get some testing done for his valve @ F.M. He is looking forward to the trip because he likes a restaurant there that has good steaks and even better Long Island Ice Tea.
He flies home Friday night landing at GSP at about 10:30 p.m. then Saturday morning we drive up to Indianapolis to visit family. Zach, our nephew, has a soccer game on Sunday so we hope to post pics of that. Dave will be heading to Chicago on Monday and come back to Indy Monday evening. Tuesday we will head home.

SOFTBALL
Meet Denise
Meet Denise or as I like to call her..... the devil. She is my personal trainer. For the last 8 weeks we have met twice a week, for an hour each session and have helped me drop a whole lotta inches and I have dropped two sizes, but my weight hasn't gone down as dramatically as I had hoped.
Denise has been impressed with my work outs. Although I do whine, I never quit and give 110% while at the gym, but Denise has figured out that I am "JUSTIFYING" I work my butt off at the gym so I can eat what I like and drink as many Coke's as I choose but clearly that's not working.
So, for the next eight weeks we are going to kick it up a notch. Although I have no clue how she could make the work outs harder, she is going to try and at home I am going to use the NUTRISYSTEM meal plans. Denise say it will teach me portion control which I desperately need.
In the next few months I hope to dramatically change the way my body looks and when I visit Michigan this August, I hope you don't even recognize me.

To make sure I will be held accountable for my work outs and eating I will be updating my blog weekly to let you know how I am progressing!

First Game of the Season...
It was my first game on Monday 4/14 at 8:30 p.m. and here in the south it was a nippy 40 degrees and rainy when the ump called batter up.....
Because of the co-ed softball rules down here, your catcher needs to be the oppisite sex of your pitcher. With Laura Blackmore, Principal for Wohali, on the mound and Chris Gault catching that left me in Left field, pouting :(
My first at bat, I had been given a batting lesson before we started this season and since it really was my first batting lesson … EVER, I was excited to see how I had improved.
The first pitch I let go past me, and the ump called it a ball, the second pitch I made contact with and although, it didn’t make it past the outfield and it made it to first base before I did, I did get an R.B.I. So I was excited and my team told me they could see the improvement from last year.
The Game Continues...
My second at bat, I made contact…. it didn’t get past the infield, and it beat me to first, and with no batter at third, I didn’t even earn my RBI
My third at bat, although everyone kept telling me my swing had improved, I still hadn’t gotten to base and I was starting to doubt them.
There were two outs and I started with a 1 and 1 count:
1st pitch I let pass, ump called a ball 1 and 2 count
2nd Pitch I let pass, ump called a strike 2 and 2 count
3rd Pitch and I swing and make contact and I have no idea where it went I just ran my hardest to first base and I was SAFE!!!!! I even earned a RBI and the crowd goes CRAZY!!!!! And by crowd, I mean Dave and by go crazy I mean he shivered because it was soooooooooo cold.
The next batter comes up and when she hits the ball I run to third, SAFE !

The next batter comes up and when he hits the ball I run as fast as my poor "broken" feet will let me and I make it home safe, and if the batter had made it to first base before the ball, it would have counted.
Oh well!!! There is always next game.
Oh well!!! There is always next game.
FYI: We lost, but it was close until the last inning, then we got creamed!!!

Fun and Games....
On Friday night Dave and I headed over to my Aunt Karen's house for fun and games!!!!
After dinner we played Cranium, which is becoming one of our favorite games. It was boys versus girls: Here Jessica draws furiously to get my mom and I to guess the answer. Joe looks on hoping it won't be good enough.
